Classic Center Foundation awards scholarships

Students at Oconee and North Oconee high schools and from Apalachee High School in Barrow County are among the recipients of this year’s performing arts and visual arts scholarships. They’ll share in $60 thousand in funding from the Classic Center Cultural Foundation.

From the Classic Center Cultural Foundation…

The Classic Center Cultural Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2024 performing arts and visual arts scholarships.

· Performing arts scholarship recipients: Abel Clark, Oconee County High School; Amy Shan, North Oconee High School; Kimberly Bateman, Home School; Madison Streeter, Apalachee High School; and Yehyun Hong, North Oconee High School.

· Visual arts scholarship recipient: Songhan Son, North Oconee High School.

· Recipient of The Ann and Jack Crowley Scholarship Fund for the Visual Arts: Cassidy Ruiz, Oconee County High School.

Performing arts and visual arts scholarships are open to 9th through 12th-grade high school students in the Northeast Georgia region. The Cultural Foundation is proud to support students throughout Northeast Georgia in their continuous study of the arts. The Cultural Foundation is thrilled to be able to award each performing arts and visual arts scholarship recipient $2,000, with an additional $500 awarded to the school’s program.

The Classic Center Cultural Foundation grants a total of $60,000 in annual hospitality education, performing arts, and visual arts scholarships throughout the year.
